Some Thoughts from the World of HR
Set a plan and do it!
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. Who doesn’t love this quote from Einstein? Many people continue to do the same thing over and over without altering any of the variables only to be disappointed when results don’t change. Does this mean they’re acting insanely?
Statistic Brain research tells us that only 8% of people who make resolutions keep them and that by the end of the first week, 25% of people have already broken them. Is there is a way to turn this around? Yes!

Witnessing signatures
Do I still need someone to witness my signature? Seems a bit old fashioned these days!
Not every document requires a witness, but some do. A witness is the person who watches you sign the document and if needed can confirm that it was indeed you signing the document and you did so without coercion if questioned.
Super for Contractors
There may be times when you need to engage a contractor for a specific project or to fulfill a business requirement quickly, whatever the reason being mindful of Super obligations is important. Under Australian Tax rulings Contractors may be considered as employees for the purposes of superannuation and businesses may need to pay super to them.
Paid family and domestic violence leave
From next year, employees will be able to access 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave in a 12-month period. This includes casual and part-time employees.
