mi kids – HR is Part of a Nurturing Environment

mi kids isn’t your ordinary early childhood education provider. Led by Melissa Cooper, it’s designed around a philosophy of ‘community matters, nurturing and embracing curious minds, aiming for excellence in education, and care.’
Located in the Northern Beaches, the centre has around 15 employees catering for up to 63 children aged from 0 to 6 daily. Melissa has created a cherished centre, where families value individual care and strong positive relationships with the team.
Always looking for ways to make the centre even better, the owners selected Impact HR, to be their partners for all things HR and embedding HR compliance into the core of the business.

Melissa emphasised, “we feel the investment was worthwhile as their (Impact HR) expertise in HR was an area we were lacking. Without their advice and guidance in contracts, hiring and managing, we would have potentially exposed our company to compliance issues which are costly and time consuming. “

We had no set way of managing or dealing with changes to Awards, nor how to approach performance issues in a reasonable and compliant manner,” said Melissa.

Working in collaboration with Impact HR, has meant the team now spends less time searching for certificates and documentation, and has more time to engage with the children and focus on “excellence in education and care.” Owners praised Impact HR with Melissa saying, “Your company is customised and has a personal approach in the guidance and support in hiring and managing and team building.”
With the industry constantly changing, mi kids’ team now have the added reassurance of having up to date systems, processes and policies in place. They can review and update their many policies easily and be notified when there has been a change. Assessing performance and continuing to educate staff is also seamless as are accreditation reviews.
