Living with Covid – Business Style

1 November 2021

In Impact HR Consulting, we hear about living with Covid repeatedly. As Individuals we have started to wrap our heads around it even though the regulations are changing, and most people are starting to feel more comfortable with the everyday things necessary for our wellbeing. When we are managing a business, we also need to understand what living with Covid means for our business and our team.

Impact HR works with very diverse businesses. Our essential worker clients have been through the juggle from day one to keep everyone working and creating a safe space for employees to be. We’ve been proud to do those little bits that we could, to help. Our hats are off to them for the amazing work they have all done to keep their teams safe while providing those services.

For those of us who were able to work from home, many are now considering how to transition back into the office (and some have already physical returned to the office). Here are some important things to keep in mind.

  1. Toe the Line: There are still regulations in place, and we need to stay on top of them as they change. QR code sign-in, Covid Vaccination checks, social distancing etc. are required at present. Ensure you have a supply of face masks if you have unvaccinated members of your team.
  2. Know the Team: For some people this is so exciting and they can’t wait to get back into the office. For others it is really scary and they are dreading it. Take the time to find out how people are feeling by talking with them or using a survey. We offer a range of Return to Office surveys to provide you with the right insights for your business.
  3. Make it Meaningful: When people are returning, find things that will help them reconnect. Team Coffees at the local café will support a potentially struggling café owner and help people reconnect. It’s also important to make time during the early stages of the team’s return to check-in with them personally and understand how the transition can best work for them.
  4. Give and Receive: Some clients are taking the opportunity to provide new branded notebooks, clothing, keep-cups, desk wipes and/or masks for employees on the first day. Small gestures can make a big difference in how the team feel and help to quickly feel at home.

If you need assistance with the return to office and new living with Covid in the office circumstances, please reach out. We are here to make your life easier.
