World Mental Health Week- Activities for a More Positive and Happier Workplace
10 October 2020
World Mental Health Week is a national week celebrated each year kicking off with World Mental Health Day on October 10. It is Australia’s national week to raise awareness of mental health and inspire actions to promote the message of good mental health for everyone.
The purpose of this week is to also engage communities in activities that promote mental health and wellbeing and also reduce the stigma about mental illness and, it’s impact on the lives of people in our community.
Mental Health Week also aims to engage and educate Australians around mental health and well-being issues through a range of activities and events by individuals and organisations across the state and, is part of a national mental health promotion campaign held annually.
We are seeing the boundaries between work and home merge more and more, and this may have a negative impact on our wellbeing. Mental Health Week is a great opportunity to bring up important conversations about taking care of ourselves.

Below is a downloadable link with some positive psychology workplace activities that your organisation may like to implement during World Mental Health Week and beyond!
Positive psychology and focusing on wellbeing together as a team is important. This is mostly because we know there is a cost on your wellbeing when the separation between work and home begins to merge and we are aware that this is happening more often. Also, research strongly indicates that when we are dedicated to building our well-being, we feel better, function more effectively, and enjoy life more.
Just as we work together on meeting our KPI’s, now more than ever it is important for us also be dedicated on developing our individual and team level well-being.
