Talent attraction
17 October 2023
Talent attraction is a term used in the Talent Acquisition field to entice the most desirable candidates to a specific employer and motivate them to apply.
The method of talent attraction include, but are not limited to, employer branding, informative job description, job board selection, compensation and benefits.
Employer Branding
Your employer brand is your organization’s reputation as an employer.
A positive employer brand is critical in today’s competitive job market. Without one, hiring and retaining talented employees becomes challenging — and often costly.
Tip: Employer branding can be showcased to desired job seekers by displaying company culture through the video portal on high end job boards.
Informative Job Description
A well put together job description can make you stand out as a company that values talent.
Job descriptions should clearly state the job requirements; candidates prefer clarity in the job responsibilities, pay scale, company profile, and any other benefits you may offer.
Tip: Include clear information about what the chosen candidate will do in the role. Break up the text with paragraphs, sub-headings, and bullet points.
Job board Selection
There are hundreds of job boards out there, and choosing the right boards is crucial for scoring the best candidates, some of them may be more relevant or useful for you depending on your location and industry.
Tip: Understand your needs, research competitors, consider niche job boards, utilise a ATS (applicant tracking system)
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation and benefits are important aspects of job adverts, as they can attract or deter potential candidates. Salary is one of the top three drivers of attraction to a role, along with work-life balance and working environment, across all industries.
Tip: Include salary or salary range on your job ad. Include benefits you can offer such as flexible work, gym membership or staff discounts.
