When I started Impact HR, I had a vision for how I was going to help thousands of business owners build their dream business; take away the headaches of HR legislation, stop the revolving door of recruitment and perfect high performing teams. Small and medium sized business owners who were tired and burnt out would fall back in love with their business and the GDP of Australia would be strong through more, and more successful small businesses.
It’s a big vision! And in the beginning, it was just me. Yikes ….
I did my research. It was nearly impossible to find anyone else doing what I was doing on the internet. I knew the number of ideal client businesses. I interviewed friends in business for their take. It was a great plan and I was the only one who needed to know what to do. I got stuck in to delivery.
Fast Forward 16 years:
– There is a bigger plan,
– More people,
– More moving parts,
– More costs,
– More risks if you change something.
So, for the planning to work now more communication is essential.
This includes
- Breaking the big vision into smaller projects with the team;
- Agreeing measurable KPIs;
- Aligning priorities; and
- Systemising check-ins to bring attention back to the most important piece for right now is .
With each member of the team committed and understanding their part in achieving the next stage of the vision, success is easier to achieve and a lot more fun. I couldn’t do it without their support. And along the journey the team learn more, gain new experience and take pride in work done well.
