Q&A With HR Expert Jasmine Ward

21 June 2020

This month’s top HR team story! Jasmine Ward has joined our growing business as a Senior HR Consultant, Jasmine has been working in HR for over 12 years having honed her skills within the Technology and Retail industries.

In this Q&A session, she tells us about her achievements and what she feels is most essential when it comes to helping small to medium businesses with their HR needs.

Q: What’s your professional background?
Over the last 12 years I have performed a myriad of HR functions including the hiring of new recruits, managing payroll across Australia and New Zealand through outsourced provider ADP, supporting managers with performance management, health and safety compliance, and coaching new leaders.

Q: What brought you to join Impact HR?
The opportunity to expand my skills and exposure across a variety of industries while working with a lovely former colleague, Nikki. Also, the flexibility provided in balancing work with a young family.

Q: What’s your biggest career achievement?
Migrated over 300 employees within the Technology Industry to a new ADP payroll system. The upgrade provided employees with easier access to their pay information, ability to update their own personal information and easier access to leave applications. The transition allowed the business to pay all Australian and New Zealand employees from the same payroll system with greater reporting capability. The process took several months and involved Finance and HR team training on the system, employee training on how to access their information and regular meetings with all stakeholders to ensure all teams were regularly updated with the process. The transition was introduced seamlessly without error or delay.

Q: What makes you passionate about your job?
I love being the trusted advisor and resource for helping clients navigate through all things HR. I also love the variety of work and learning something new every day!

Q: In your opinion, what’s the most important thing when improving your client’s team performance?
Empowering our clients with the knowledge, tools, and resources to support their teams to be the best they can be and reach their full potential.

A bit about me:
I have a weakness for chocolate and enjoy a glass of red wine at the end of the week! I have 2 little ones who keep me busy but do like to relax with Netflix when I can!
