Managing A.I.

Why managing A.I. is essential for us? Everywhere I look there is something about AI. And it is one of the questions I am asked most frequently.
“Should I allow AI in my business?”
“How do I train my team to use AI effectively?”
“How do I protect my business from AI?”
“It changes every day! How do I keep up?”
So, SO many questions!
And all of them are important to think about and get right for your unique business. There is no one size fits all. It needs to be right for you and what you are trying to achieve. But to get us started here are some of the big things to think about.
1.) Write an AI Policy
Regardless of if you have already embedded AI into your business or don’t want to, you need to clearly communicate that to the team. And you need to set firm expectations on what can and can’t be used or handled in AI. The Impact HR team can use it for certain tasks, but there can be no identifying data. Which AI tools can be used? Every piece of software seems to have AI embedded in it now.
We can assist you to navigate that and craft an AI Policy that suits your business.
2.) Strategic Leverage AI
When we creating your Strategic People Plan we look at the business plans and work with you to define how we will achieve the goals. We do that by considering the people and skills needed and breaking them into 4 categories.
Build – can we grow a current member of the team to do a big role and contribute more to the business.
Buy – do we need to hire a person to secure a task or bring knowledge into the business
Borrow – do we engage a contractor with expertise for a period of time. This allows us to derisk the core business
BOT – can we take repetitive tasks and automate them. This may be AI now but can also be getting different systems to work together more efficiently (think power automate or Zapier etc)
As AI matures we are identifying more opportunities for BOTs
3.) Embedding AI systems
When you think about AI as Learning Model, it is a natural conclusion that at the beginning it may not be 100% successful. We need to teach it how to behave in the way you want it to. That means, sharing the preferred way of communicating, giving it feedback on when it delivered a task correctly or what needs to change for next time. BOTS are not an instant fix. Like employees they need time and attention to get the best results. However, once they are taught, they can replicate that task thousands of time without error or suffering boredout, which is important. That is when the errors occur for our human team members.
It also allows us to consider those people in our team we can Build into bigger roles and how we can supercharge your business growth.
