Q&A With Learning & Development Consultant, Katherine Craig
18 March 2021
Introducing Katherine Craig, who recently joined us as our new Senior Learning & Development Consultant to deliver training and coaching services for our clients. In this Q&A session, Katherine shares how her background and skills can support our clients in developing a culture of performance, engagement, and profitability.
Q: What’s your professional background?
I’ve worked with both SMEs and large corporates in Sydney and New York, across a wide range of industries including healthcare, technology, financial services, and media. Before changing careers to become a coach and facilitator, I was a senior marketing executive for many years. This dual experience gives me a deep understanding of both business strategy and people development – two things I’m very passionate about.
Q: What brought you to join Impact HR?
I love that the Impact HR team is collaborative, professional, and committed to making a difference for our clients. Our consultants go out of their way to ensure both the organisation and individuals are supported and cared for throughout even the most challenging of situations.
Q: What makes you passionate about your job?
Something I find so rewarding with coaching and training, is the opportunity to create positive change in people’s lives on both a professional and personal level. Helping to shift people’s perspective on a situation and opening them up to what’s possible can have a massive impact.
Q: In your opinion, what’s the most important thing when improving your client’s team performance?
There are two things I think are fundamental… Helping people get a better understanding of who they are and the impact (positive and negative) that their mindset and behaviour can have on themselves and their team; and wellbeing – equipping people with knowledge and tools to support their mental health and wellbeing at work and outside of work.
A bit about me:
I’m a total book worm and always have a pile of books on the go – a recent favourite was American Dirt. I’m also a bit of a psychology nerd and love learning about human behaviour and self-development. Most weekends I’m at the beach doing a coastal walk, or swimming during summer – usually with my two young daughters who keep me both entertained and busy!
